CRISALIDA
Carla Reyes emerges as the creative force behind Crisálida, a collection born from the longing to find a refuge. Her designs are like cocoons, delicately woven to heal time, where metamorphosis rests.
We met a year ago in Bolivia, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. While she was returning home, I was exploring a new land that would soon become mine. An instant affinity arose with her universe of purity, and from that came my inspiration to create an audiovisual piece: a continuous flow of images intertwined with subtle details, all captured on Super 8. To me, the world of Crisálida evokes the past — a beauty reminiscent of ancient Greece, with a classical marble aesthetic and a digital sonic echo that anticipates a near future.
In this fusion between the ancient and the modern, between the visual and the sonic, the beings of Crisálida dwell. They embody the many facets of being, the constant search for movement, the need for connection, harmony with the environment, and the release from prejudice. Each of these elements is a voice guiding the metamorphosis.
